"Diminished value" is largely a negotiating position. In some states it is recognized, and in others it is not.
What I know of Liberty Mutual is that they use contract adjusters, rarely a staff adjuster, so you will want to be decent to the adjuster but insistent that through no fault of yours, your car will be worth less in the future. Especially if you have to complete a disclosure statement, as many states have instituted, that requires you to disclose damage to your vehiclle before you sell or trade it. Know whether there is such a statement before you meet with the adjuster.
Show no hostilty towards the appraiser/adjuster and don't tip your hand. Find out what they'll offer and if it's not right right by you then play your hand. My past experience with their adjusters has been most beneficial to me by letting them do their job. IMHO
