chrome chipping off wheel

chrome chipping off wheel
I have stock 2000 crome wheels. a small piece of chrome is peeling a bit, approx the size of a nickel. Anyone know of a fix to stop this from peeling any further? Thanks, Jay

Chrome wheels were never OEM - if they are truly OEM wheels and not reproductions, then they were chromed aftermarket.
And no - there really is no way to stop the chrome from peeling further.

I'm fairly confident they r OEM. I have seen many vettes with these on them. Maybe they r high poilshed but im not sure. anyone hear of top coating with clear nail poilsh? May sound a bit silly but i thought i heard it b4. thanks

Jrrodi, as mentioned to you above: Any chrome wheel that has had the chrome surface obviously and visibly damaged (i.e., bubbled, lifted, flaking, peeling, bent, dented, scraped, scratched, cut, nicked, etc.), AND, the presence of the visible damage bothers you, the wheel will have to be straightened (depending upon damage), re-surfaced, AND, re-chromed for the best resolutionary result. A damaged chrome wheel is NOT self healing. Damaged chrome plated surfaces will only worsen with time, and, continued exposure to environmental elements. Good luck to you.
