When I get in my 03 Coupe, half of the time when I insert the key the seat/wheel return to where I selected them. The other half of the time they do not. Any reasons why?

You have to lock car each time you get out. When you get in (unlocked) it will work. Or if you forget and get in hit the fob to lock and unlock.
I have had the same ongoing problem with my 99 vert. I have tried every combination imaginable. Sometimes the car will go for a week and work flawlessly. Then it will act up intermittently. No rhyme or reason. Just another example of fine GM engineering.
Easy entry won't work if you don't hit the unlock button on the fob.
For instance, if the car is not locked, you hop in, and insert the key without having first hit the fob the seat won't move.
If you hit unlock on the fob, then hop in and insert the key the seat will move forward. It is the unlock button on your fob that activates the Easy entry feature.
Once I trained myself to always tap the unlock button before getting in the car I haven't had a problem with easy entry since.
If for some reason I do forget then I just hit the memory 1 button on the door, with the key in the ignition, and it zooms me into place as well.

I have the same thing if you have changed any settings like mirror or sometimes the seat button you have to reprogram by pushing the memory button again and holding it in till the little light goes off,but mine does that also.
As several mentioned above, you must first press the "Unlock" button on the FOB each time before opening the door and entering the car. Pressing the "Unlock" button is what initializes the memory recall which starts when the key is inserted into the ignition switch. Too, the door must be closed before inserting the key. Otherwise, you will have to push the memory button on the door panel. This is the way the system is designed. Also, certain actions such as removing the key or cranking the engine before memory recall is complete will interrupt the recall and you will then have to use the memory button to complete the recall. This and more is covered in the 2003 Corvette Owner's Manual under Keyless Entry System and Memory and you may want to review those sections.
My 2000 seems to "lose" it's memory if the car sits for a week or two. Got tired of it and turned the memory feature off. Figure that will also keep from wearing out the seat mechanism. I wasn't aware of the requirement to hit unlock on fob, but since I live in an area with about 15 TV/radio towers, my fob doesn't work in my town anyway. Don't know why US car fobs seldom work here, but foreign makes all seem to.
Thanks to all for the information. This is my first Vette, and I have owned it for just about a month now. I'm still learning how to use all of the cool features it has. What a wonderful ride it is.....
