Default Glue

A new problem, not sure how to remove. I bought a C5 Vert last fall, the rear bumper had those acrylic letters in the word corvette.

After my drive last weekend I noticed one of the letters was gone, so when I was cleaning the car I had removed the rest of them for a up-date, that is when I noticed that one of the letters looks to have had glue behind it at some time, I have tried goo-goon to remove it with no success.

Any thoughts without damaging the finish the car is black.

Jim

If it was instant glue, try the product at the top of this page - it worked for me

http://www.theglueguy.com/products.htm#sol

YMMV with the finish, so you may want to test it out.. If it doesn't look like a 'super' glue type of adhesive, try emailing them for advice.

If you can get a picture of the offending adhesive and post-up here, it might help too.

I'd try some wd-40.

some glues will loosen up with heat - try a hair dryer to heat it up and carefully remove it...

With a soft rag, light pressure, and patience.
Follow up with some cleaner wax and finish wax of your choice.
Have been successful with this removing dealer tags, etc.

Good luck getting the glue off. I think I'd try the WD40 first too.

Nail polish remover. If it's Superglue use Acetone. Watch the paint.

If you can't get the glue off, then what about putting some stainlees steel letters on, to cover up the glue? It would be better than damaging the paint tring to remove the glue, IMO.
