Default carmine red paint???

I found a 98 vette for sale that is carmine red with light gray int. I haven't seen it in person yet but from the pic it looks the same as mag red. I have never herd of carmine red. Does it look good?

It's almost like the Magnetic red.

When I was shopping for c5's I found a 97 with Carmine Red Paint. I thought it was the ugliest color known to man. A couple years later I bought my 99 Mag red Vet. It's the most beautiful color ever made. And yes, they are nearly identical. Funny what the sunlight and a different frame of mind can do for ya.

I've seen the colors side by side. Lt. Carmine Red metallic seems to have a slightly brownish cast to it, where Magnetic Red has more blue undertones.

It is a "sexy" color. Insane in the sunlight.

Good luck !

Same here, I agree. Carmine red has a browner appearance, can even look orangish in some lights. Mag red is much deeper, more apple red.

Older color on the older C5's. Interesting shade of reddish light brown, and, not very common.

I had a 1998 coupe that was Light Carmine Red Metallic with a light gray interior. Got many compliments on it. Does not seem to be too common. Also, I believe that is the color combination of the Corvette in the 1998 owners video that came with the car.
