Default Exhaust question

I am new here and I have a question. Looking at buying a 01 C5 for the wife as her car and I have an exhaust question. I used to have a 98 LS1 Ram Air trans am and I hopped it up pretty good, She was doing high 11's with the stock 273 rear thanks to Mike at Yank converters and some other bolt on mods.
Question is, I bought a set of MAC headers and Y pipe for the TA and the borla catback setup, Honestly I loved the sound, the power gains were good but not earth shattering but I see or from what little poking around I did Mac does not make headers for the vettes, Why would this be? I think they would be slightly altered versions than the F body cars had why would they not produce a pair for this car? Who is making a good header for these cars that wont break the bank, I have a 41 foot offshore apache that takes up most of my money so the few bones I have laying around for the car I want to put to good use. With 1700 HP blower engines in the boat, This car stuff Is easy to work on so I miss it and thats why I think the C5 would be a great car for the wife, so I have something to tinker with when im not burried in the bilge of the Apache.

Probably the best bang for your buck is the Texas Speed headers, a forum vendor.

Welcome

I think you will learn that you will now begin to pay a lot more for virtually the same parts that you used to purchase.

They call it the "Corvette Tax" and it is alive and well!

Even weather stripping is at a 1 million percent mark-up for Corvettes.

HA, 12 grand for a pair of headers for the boat, This is childs play trust me. Not trying to sound like a pompous *** or anything either. I just enjoy getting a good bang for the buck is all, Dont like to over pay for products that are not worth what you pay for them. Ill pay more $ for something that is going to last alot longer than inferior parts that are similar $ that last half as long. Thats just the way I am programmed really.
Back when I had my TA, Parts were VERY expensive since no one really made anything for the LS1 for a long time after they just had come out in 97 on the vettes and 98 on the birds and camaro's. Headers were a MILESTONE back then and Mac was pulling in about 950 a pair NOT jet hotted either. I see they have come way down in price. Good to see, This texas place, make a good part that lasts? Will a B&B system or a borla hook up to it with no problems? Does borla have the setup of bypassing the mufflers like they did on the F Bodies?
