I'm thinking about tinting my own car...

Okay......step back and take a deep breath. If you can call a Forum member ("Sponsor") do so and do so promptly. You clearly need an intervention. Donot, I repeat donot pick up a sharp object during this time.....

Seriously, I have this image of seeing a vette running down the street with the tint film, and the little air bubbles throughout. If you want the tint, cool...but go Pro - Bro.

Happy 4th.

I'll tear the motor out of EG's car before attempting to tint my own windows....and trust me they need it badly! Good luck!

Unless you really know how to put that stuff on, I'd let a pro do it. Have seen a lot of really crummy tint jobs running around.

Dude -- 2 hours and $130 at a tint shop versus all afternoon and $50 in materials to do it yourself. And I won't even comment on the likelihood of the whole job becoming a DIY pain in the ****.

Tinting and Proctology are two skills best left to trained professionals.

Very funny but true!!!!!

Take it from me I used to do this as a part time gig many years ago...Very frustrating as well as difficult. With the prices that they are charging today it is well worth the dollars spent to have a professional do it.

If you choose to do it yourself please have pictures!!!! It might be fun to look at!!!!

Good Luck!

I did it on a car many years ago - now admittedly the materials are much better - but talk about a frustrating afternoon to tint a couple of windows, no way for me! I agree with the others, this is a job better left to the pros!

Default Just had mine tinted

I say leave it to the pros. It costed me $200 but worth it. I don't however recommend 15% on the rear. It's way to dark. 35% all round is good.
