Keep pressing the "gauges" button until you see trans temp. Thats what I usually watch now that I recently installed a new transmission.

Oil pressure is always on the HUD and coolant temp is always on the DIC. All others are used when I scan them occasionally.

Baselining
Got my C5 in April 06. Since then I have used to DIC to baseline all the various systems in the car. Biggest ones were coolant temp and oil pressure. I think it's a good idea to get a feel for what is "normal" for your ride. Then, if you get an odd ball reading, you have the knowledge to see it before something big comes your way.
Now, I use coolant temp in hot wx or stop and go, and instant fuel mileage for the baseline. It's what I use on my Tahoe, and I love to see mpg above 16!!!!

Hope this isn't a repost, but I was curious what display you leave your driver information center on for everyday driving. I watched my mileage for a while, but have turned it off completely for the past few days.

Usually mileage. On the track it is set on Oil Temp which is critical to watch.
