Those are the ever popular NAPA rotors. They were not coated so everytime they get wet, a fresh layer of rust appears. They looked good before I washed the car. The EBC pads are annihilating the rotors so I will be putting a fresh set on soon anyway.
If the rust on the NAPA rotors bothers you do what I did spray a couple of coats of VHT Black paint on the rotor hats. Make then look good and no more rust..............
Thats a good tip. How does the paint hold up with the heat? My pads are really aggressive and I drive it pretty hard so the rotors take a real beating when it comes to heat.

I don't really drive my car that hard.. but out here in Idaho we have alot of steep mountain roads and I do fly up and down them. I reach speeds over 130 MPH and my brakes do get hot and the paint seems to hold up.....Mind you not every day do I drive that way...
I have an absolute ball driving the this car. I dish it out and it takes every bit of it. I drive it to work every day and cruise around every night in it. I wouldn't get rid of this car for anything!
I bought it with the curb rash. I wasn't going to let a bit of curb rash stop me from getting the killer deal I got on this car. CCWs in the future I suppose. I need a mini tub kit for the rear before I go CCW though.
Mine looks about like that right now too. That's what a 600+ mile trip to Dallas in the rain will do. Raining all week here, but I'll still be driving her!
i read the title and thought someone got a pic of my car... i havnt washed it in 3 days and the back end is covered in dirt/dust and the front end takes no prisoners with some bugs smeared all over. going to wash it tonight/tomorrow morning for some fun in the sun cruising.
I feel your pain. I just took mine (black also) for its first road trip to Toronto over the weekend. When I got out at the first rest stop I almost had a heart attack - it was twice as bad as yours (made a wrong exit at one point onto some road where some construction vehicles had been ). I was actually psyched when I hit a thunderstorm later on in the trip - first time I've ever welcomed rain while driving the Vette. But it did no good. I hooked up with a couple of Canadian Forum members in T.O. for a burger and couldn't show off the nice shine.
By the way, the beast performed like a champ up and back. These cars are definitely made to be driven and driven hard. She just kept asking for more. By the time I got home, all the dirt and slime was like a badge of honor. But I'll be at the wash bucket and Rejex as soon as I can.
