Default Another hard lesson learned.

I have a trunk lid liner that will not stay in place, so I debated with just doing away with it or ordering a new 3-piece set from CAR Motorsports. I wanted to clean all the old adhesive off the under side of the trunk lid, and I have read several people here cleaned it with denatured alcohol. So with alcohol and cotton swabs in hand I started on the right side panel. You know how the warning label always says to test on an inconspicuous spot first.........I didn't. It looks like crap! Now I have one panel that is splotchy and discolored. Now I really need a new liner! Guess I will be calling CAR Motorsports on Wednesday.

Quite a shock I'm sure. At least it can be covered up with the liner. Good luck.

You're right, but I only have two days before the next Corvette event on our calendar.
Second mistake:While I made a quick run to the hardware store, I left the garage door open. My wife was home and working in the front yard, so no worries. One of the neighbors cats got in the garage, jumped on the hood, walked full length of the Corvette and then launched off the rear deck. I love cats, but this one may disappear. So now I get to do a complete detail on the car, including swirl remover, before we leave Friday morning. I can be such a klutz sometimes!!
