Ive been browing the forum for a couple weeks, Seems like one heck of a group of people on here! I am looking to find my c5, i know shes out there somewhere.
I currently have a '98 ws6 (eibach lowering kit, borla exhaust, k&n & hypertech programmer) but have always had a passion for corvettes, My daily driver will be paid off in november (boring truck) so its time to find my corvette.
Are there any trouble spots to look for? How do i make sure that it hasnt been katrina'd? Any other first time buyer help would be greatly appreciated.
The target car in my mind right now is
Black w/targa top
Less than 50k miles
Manual Trans preferred

welcome! C5s are very durable and reliable cars, but wuth a few quirks, like any other car. Here's a link to a 'stickie' that's always at the top of the C5 General forum. Check it out. It tells you more than you will ever need to know. Zuti http://forums.corvetteforum.com/showthread.php?t=984927
Good luck. I'm sure you'll find the right car. Black is a popular color and all coupes have removable tops. 6 speeds are also common. Keep looking and be patient. Low mileage Vettes are out there at a reasonable price. I've even seen some at unbelievable low prices. Just be patient.
Be a qualified buyer. Check out insurance ahead of time. Make a list of what you really want. Then look for that car. travel to check out a good sounding car, but be ready to buy or walk away.
