After reading many posts here and in the Z06 section, I decided to lower my Z yesterday. I followed the basic procedures outlined by most posters here (search "lowering") and wanted to share the following.
- The back is so easy that it's almost laughable. Get it up in the air using the crossmember jacking method, two 18mm wrenches and it's done.
- The front is a different story. After slavishly reading and following the predominant threads here's my suggestion. Get her up using the ramp, jack approach (search "jacking") and remove the front wheels. Remove the lower shock mount bolts right away. I could not get a meaningful wrench on the 10mm adjusting bolt without moving the shock. My 2003 vintage bolts had sort of bonded with the bushing and it took almost all I had strength wise and a 1/2" drive to get them to go the first two turns. Then it was smooth going. Just thought I'd throw this out there for those of you who haven't done it yet. Pics when she settles...
