I knew the C5 Z06 came with a TI system that was lighter and different than the stock systems but did the 1998 pace car version's have a different exhaust than the stock version?

I am fairly certain that the two actual cars that were in the race had the Corsa exhaust system, as those cars were prepared by GM. But the 1163 replicas that were sold by the dealers had the standard C5 exhaust system with the black tips.
ALL 1998 Indy Pace Car Replicas came from the factory with a Corsa Indy Pace Car Exhaust System. This is the exact system available from Corsa (www.corsaperf.com) for any C5. This system is considerably different from a factory stock C5 system.

WRONG!
that is incorrect!
please show where you got that information from.
all pace car replicas had the same factory exhaust that came on all '98 corvettes.
every totally stock '98 pace car that I have ever seen (including mine when I first got it) had the stock factory C5 exhaust.
I installed a Corsa Pace Car exhaust on it after I bought the car, it's one of the best mods I have ever done!

Here's a pic of the rear of a STOCK '98 Pace car - those tips don't look like any Corsa exhaust that I've ever seen. And I'm pretty sure that I know what the Corsa Pace Car exhaust looks like - I have it.

Wow, I stand corrected. I had bad information all of these years. I must have heard it somewhere along the grapevine and filed in in the ole memory bank. Maybe the actual "Pace Cars" used during the race were fitted with the Corsa exhaust, but I won't attest to that either.
Yes and NO!
In '97 (I believe)there was a dealer installed exhaust mod. It could have been done to any C5. I did it to mine! 04.
See very poor drawing. You cut the pipe after it goes over rear end (before going into muffler)and splice in a short connecting pipe (8")to the inboard pipe after it comes out of the muffler.
At idle its a little more than stock, as it lazies its way through the rear can, but when ya drop the hammer it blasts strait out the inbrd pipe.
