2nd question what should i be looking for when i go look at the car to tell if it is a solid deal.
-sorry if this if not enough info. i'll answer what i can just looking for some advise
383 is a 346 with a stroker crank, very common.
you might want to ask your buying questions in the C5 vettes for sale those guys could probaly help you out if it's a good deal or not
well aware of what a 383 is.
what i was asking is as a bunch of vette owners i was wondering how many 383 ls1 vetts are running around.
2nd of all how do you guys like them
and lastly i thought that it was odd combo since there are a lot of packages that allow for say 427's or 402, 396...
just asking what you guys think of that package.
I am looking at replacing my engine with a 383. I do a lot of Road Racing and the 383 seems to be a good fit for that. It has plenty of power for what I need. I dont want it pushed, but I am hoping to see somewhere around 525 rwhp/ 450 rwtq. Combined that with 3.73 gears this will make a great road race car.
Mines a 383 installed by LF.
Runs like a BOH and gets great milage.
Stole it from a Nissan dealer 2 years ago.
They are still trying to find the spare.
