KEWL not so hot...
I have a plentiful amount of KEWL items under my hood, but wanted some more. I contacted them on June 7 to check availablility on a battery cover. I was assured that it would ship on Monday the 12th so I can have in time for Bloomington Gold weekend. I get a call on the 14th to ask a question about the part that would go out 'next week'. I told the girl that I was promised this item earlier and to cancel the order. She put me on the phone to someone else who reluctantly offered sending me the part at no charge since it was he who had promised shipment on the 12th. I told him that I would not feel right taking an $80 part free, and just cancel the order. I was then offered a 25% discount and free freight if I wished to receive the order. It would be shipped by the 19th. The item was billed to UPS on the 23rd, but the tracking record showed it was not picked up until the 29th. I received it on the 30th. Guess what? It was billed at the full price, and the shipping was almost $12. So what I was promised was three weeks late and cost $92 instead of the $60 as promised.
Don't be surprised to see a bunch of torch red engine dress up stuff appear on e-bay. I guess I shoulda taken the freebie. That's what you get for being a nice guy.
sorry to hear about that....I have a pair of FRC's from KEWL, there was a hairline crack in the paint after a year of being on the car....they sent me a new pair, no questions asked
Hay, give Greg a call they will take care of it. I buy a lot from him for my customers now and then I get a part that's not so good but he as always taking care of it. The lady is is wife and they are the owners. Give him a chance to make it right. We all make mistakes. good luck
well...I guess you can try and call them and see if you can work it out and get the credit on your card.....I have spoken my piece on here about KEWL....had my issues...got my money back and moved on. The product is good but I think they are overwhelmed and over promise and underdeliver...JMO....I think they will make it right but you really need to have patience with them...good luck
I bought a bunch of stuff from Greg @ Kewl. It was 3 seperate orders actually. The first was for my FR Covers, and Intake Plenum Cover. I wanted to see how it looked before ordering the rest, washer/coolant tank, battery cover, etc. So i liked what i got, ordered the rest of what i "thought" i wanted. The stuff got there and i wasn't happy with the Blue Carbon Kevlar, so i wanted to return it. Greg said no problem, i'll redo the order and send you the stuff you want and a shipping label to return the old stuff. I waited about 1.5 months with no reply on my order status. Cause when i called it was busy, or no one would pick up. I had to go as far as to faxing a letter to them at there advertised fax #. In which i got a reply the next day, saying the parts were shipping out the following week. Parts arrived, looked good, i shipped the old stuff back and was suppsed to be reimbursed the difference. Cause the C/F was more expensive then the painted pieces. But i took a dicounted part in exchange for a refund. This was about 3-4 months ago. Moral of the story, great parts....slow customer service.
The Forum allows a factual post on an unresolved dispute with a vendor or another member once all efforts to resolve the issue offline have been exhausted. Then, the post must be factual and cannot be used to bash the vendor or the member. Once the post has been made, it cannot be repeated in other sections or on other days.
Moderators will try to leave such threads open until everybody with direct knowledge of the issue being addressed has had a chance to provide their version of the facts. The thread must not become a running debate on the accuracy of the “facts” and may not deteriorate into an exchange of personal attacks. Neither should be used as an opportunity for speculation by those who do not have direct knowledge of the issue.
Once there has been the opportunity for the facts on all sides to be posted, the thread will be locked. It will remain in the database and will be available for review by those who are researching the topic, vendor or member.
The Forum is not in a position to monitor transactions or to determine the “true facts” in most disputes. Upon request, however, the Forum will try to intervene and mediate a settlement suitable to all parties in a dispute. When issues are resolved in the matter, it will be posted to the original dispute thread so it becomes part of the searchable record. We believe that is a more useful record of performance for potential customers than would be an eBay-style rating system.
As has been our past practice, members or vendors who show a pattern of unresolved issues will be removed from Corvetteforum.com.
If your serious about selling your under hood items, post them on here first, before considering Ebay. I for one ,would be very interested in torch red engine accessories !
I hear ya'... but if I read the original post correctly, sounds like the post originator already has called then a few times - just to get the part delivered.
Why should he continue to call the person ? No business should have to be reminded by it's customers of what was said & agreed to in previous phone calls.
