There I was calmly perusing my new Car and Driver magazine I just got yesterday ---- and I turn to a two page ad for the new Monte Carlo SS (arguably the fugliest car ever to come out of GM) featuring Nascar driver's opinions......with the caption below the first picture (featuring who else....Jeff Gordon..)..of ...."THE CAR WITH THE HEART OF A CORVETTE."
The ad goes on to say what a GREAT car all of the Nascar drivers think the Monte Carlo is (hmmmmmmm....anyone think that any of the Nascar cars look anything like a street car?...and what about the real one being FRONT WHEEL DRIVE...).
OK, I'm done ---- breathing deeply here.......what a ad, GM!!!! Anyone else think that they are stretching the truth beyond the breaking point here?
From: The second childhood is the best one of all.
For the money he gets, I'd say anything.
And what is "ugly" about that car? It is the closest to a Honda look GM has ever made and you know how no one can say anything bad about a Honda. I laughed at Motor Trend. One month they said the keyless door locks and ignition system was stupid on the C6 and in the same edition they said it was a great, innovative idea on a Lexus.
OK, I've just GOT to ask.....What the heck does "IB4TL" mean? I must be missing something here and I've seen that used here a lot....would like in on it....
IB4TL= in before the lock- since this thread does not really have anything to do with C5 corvette. It will probably get locked by a Mod.
As far as what the Nascar drivers say, as someone else said, with the amount of money and sponsorship that goes on, they'll say anything. It's all about PR and Marketing.
OK, I get it, thanks....and this probably will be locked, or they could just take off that profane video and leave my original question as to the validity (obsurdity??) of the GM ad relating to CORVETTE...............
