Default BB bullet vs borla stinger

ive heard clips from both, but havnt heard either in person, they sound relatively the same as far as loudness goes on the clips, but i have heard the bullet is pretty loud, is it dumb loud, or does it sound pretty good? also, from the clips i heard they sounded fairly alike in tone, that true also?

Bullet is louder than Stinger.

With that, Bullet drones more.

Both drone among the worst of the exhausts, but their idles sound great.

I had the Bullet system, it wasn't dumb loud, it was awesome. I sold it after 500 miles due to excessive drone and giving me near irrepairable headaches from it.

i cant comment on the stingers because i have not heard them in person but the clips i heard did not sound as good to me as the bullets. i went with the bullets on my frc and i am very happy with them. they are loud but not in an obnoxious way. i have never heard a negative comment about the sound of my car. if you do get a loud exhaust it would be worth getting some insulation and putting it under the carpet. they do drone. this was fixed with the insulation mod and a partition. i liked the bullets so much i am getting them for my z also.

I have the Bullets and i can't comment on the stingers, but i know from others the bullets are louder.

IMO The drone or resonance or whatever people complain about isn't even an issue. At idle they sound great - at WOT they sound Awesome and on the freeway the drone/resonance doesn't really kick in until like 2krpms... and i'm never at 2k rpms cause MN6... i guess it's worse with an auto.. but with a manual i have NO complaints with this exhaust.

Plus the cost is awesome, and the look is WAAAAAY Better than stock!

i too am a 6spd so good to hear the drone isn't that big'a deal, and even fixable by the partition/insulation, so good feedback on the bullets, gonna have to try to find out a little bit more on the stingers, its looking like i may have to get new instead of from the for sell area so, price wise the bullets would be a much better choice if its a good sounding exhaust

Careful who you listen to. I made a thread about my disappointment with my Bullet system after I tried a partition and different RPMS and everything, and MANY people came out of the woodwork expressing the same problems with the drone, even with many attempts at trying to insulate their vehicles from sound.

I understand some people have different tolerances, but my rides to/from NJ were PAINFUL, even with a MN6. I did NOT appreciate the drone AT ALL. If your car is a cruiser, I do not recommend them. f not, have at it.

I've got the Borla Stinger Quads on my 98 and they sound great, especially under throttle. There is a slight drone at about 60mph, but it only exists in a narrow window of the power band.

i have the bullets and love them. tips are awesome looking, drone dosnt bother me at all. if you buy the exhaust that says in the ad...loudest exhaust system sold, you dont care about drone. fit was great, and cost is the best out there. i decided i didnt like stingers before i ever heard them. if you look at the back of a car with them, you can see the mufflers hanging down at an angle, i hate that. if you want loud muscle car sound, get bullets

I have heard both in person, and driven Vettes with both systems. The Bullets are about the loudest system out there (only the SLP's are louder) so they are louder then the Stingers.,,but the stingers are quite loud also.. either way you are going to have quite a bit of drone, but again all our ears are different so try and listen in person if there is any way you can.

Good luck

Im just trying to put everything you guys are saying into perspective. When I get an exhaust, I am ONLY doing a catback on the Vette.

On my Mustang I have Long Tubes, Offroad X, and Loudmouth 1's. If you want LOUD, you GOT it. The drone in that car is crazy! But I actually didn't mind it.

With JUST a catback, I can't imagine the drone being anywhere remoting even near close to what I had on my mustang.

So take into consideration to what Ive heard... A catback cannot produce THAT much drone?!? Am I wrong...

(Again, Im just trying to put my situation into perspective). Im only doing a catback on the Vette... So I want a nice loud, aggressive tone. But I know it won't be too loud, because its only a catback right? Or wrong?

Yes, you're wrong. I can't comment on your Mustang but the Bullet system on my Vert with the top up during cruise made a horrific drone that eventually gave me a headache for an entire weekend. It was terrible.

You know, one exhaust they state has no/minimal drone while STILL giving the muscle car sound is the GHL Bullet or Magnum system, with the small mufflers.

Exactly! Exhaust note, tonal quality, preferred expectation, and, perceived drone are so subjective. Now, what you might do is to access several of the local Corvette Clubs in your area, and, approach those members that have the exhaust systems you have in mind for a chance to hear the different exhaust systems live.

Also, in doing so, these members will then be able to provide you some hardcore owner feedback regarding these systems. IMHE: I have had the opportunity to try numerous brands and systems. And, between the two (Borla vs. B&B Bullets), the B&B Dual Tip Bullets are LOUDER. And, yes, I do experience some drone. However, I personally prefer this system over the Corsa Pace Car, GHL's, Borla XR-1's, and, Borla Stingers. And, every time I pull up to a gas station, recreation area, dealership, etc., I get nothing but admiring glances, and, comments like: "Damn! Now that's a Corvette!

I have the B&B Bullet quads and they sound awesome. They are not dumb loud. Actually, before I bought these for my 2000 a4 I was afraid that they might be too loud because they are considered to be one of the loudest after market exhausts. To my surprise, after I put them on, they weren't as loud as I was anticipating. Just real deep muscle car sounding.

I have the stinger and would like to hear the bullets also. As for the appearance on the photos, it looks like the bullet's tip sticks out more than the Stinger, looking at it side view.

Default bullets

i have the bullets. THEY ARE AWESOME, i just put them on about a week ago, and the guy who sold them to me on here, said they were too loud and he couldnt hear the radio or talk to a passenger next to him.
i am 19 years old, i listen to the music LOUD, keep the windows down, and scream to the person next to me, this exhaust is badd a$$!!!
i love it, just like some people are sayin, if they say they are one of the loudest systems, then your gonna get a loud system, and to some people that is obnoxious or whatever.
the sounds on the Bullets are really deep, and have a great idle, its your choice, but IMO the bullets are great
