today i bought a bottle of techron for my 02 zo6,never had a gauge prob before,30 min later gauge went to E,but after running it ,it came back to normal.is this a early warning of future problems.techron had to have caused it,but i've read good stuff about it.weird
the Techrom might just be doing its job softening and dislodging deposits on the sending unit and in the process of them being loosened you got some funky readings...
I would switch gasolines

I threw in a bottle in my 04 Z the last time I filled up then went on a 200+ mile ride. The ride was planned, I didn't do it for the cleaner. I'll add a bottle to the tank a couple of times a year, sort of a preventative maintenance thing, I don't think it'll hurt anything.
I used to get gauge problems all the time when I would use Exxon, Shell, and Chevron. Then I read about the Techron which could correct this issue. So I started using Techron exclusivly and it took about a month of running Chevron to stop the gauge problems. I haven't seen the guage drop to E in a very long time. I would just keep using Techron or just fill up with Chevron as much as possible.

I couldn't get anywhere with the techron "fix", nor the BG44k, so I started running Shell V-Power, and after a couple tanks the sender issue stopped. I try to make at least every other fill up at Shell now.
Had the "gauge problem" in my '98 eight months ago. Used a 20 oz bottle of Techron and followed up with a 12oz bottle in next tankful. Haven't had problem since (knock on wood). I use Mobil premium.
Cheers
