Default New here...Need advice, please!

Hello everyone,

I spent the day on this site and I must say I am very impressed with the amount of information on the site. I do not own a Vette but I am seriuosly considering buying one in the near future. I am by no means an expert when it comes to buy cars, especially Vettes, so I thought I would ask you guys as see what you have to say about the topic of a newbie buying their first Vette.

I saw an ad the other day for a 2002 conv. with 15,000 miles. The car has only had one owner and I can tell the car has been pampered. The owner is asking $36k for the car and I was wondering if that is a little high. The car has a lot of the goodies inside including the HUD and a 12 disc changer. It appears that there are no mods to it....

I appreciate your help and thanks in advance. By the way, I will definitley be spending a lot of time on this site...great info!!

Paul

That price seems high to me. There are lots of good deals out there, it just takes some looking. Of course, what he is asking and what he may sell it for could be very different. You might want to see what his bottom line is.

People usually start high. If you like the car make him an offer in the low 30s. See if the seller is realistic. I think $33-34K would be a fair price. The 02 coupes in real clean condition and low mile should bring $29-31K. Thje Verts are more. Remember, this is Vette season. The price will be a couple of Gs higher. When you get it you'll be glad you did. The price is important but just as important is to find the car you really like.
