When I drive with the windows down the material that lays on the convertible hatch flaps up and down and is annoying. Any fix for this or am I missing something?

Yep - my rule for the convertible is if it's nice enought to drive with the windows down, then it's nice enough to drive with the top down too. That flap protects the rear window when the top is folded....so fold the top!

Gotta go wiht blacksedan on this one! Nothing looks worse to me than a convertible at speed with windows down and the top 'puffed' up from the wind. My old Camaro was horrible abou that.

I've wondered what that flap of fabric is for! I was thinking it was to lessen the glare on the rear window that might happen when the sun reflects off the paint when the top is up.
I have to agree with Randy (blacksedan87) on this too. I've also read a few posts here where the cloth material flapping in the breeze supposedly caused paint wear to the tonneau cover.
It was about 90 after I got off of work. Sun was still blazing so I didn't want to drop the top. It's about 20 miles to home so I just dropped the windows. Seems there should be a way to secure that flap somehow. Glad I'm not the only one that has a wind flap. Well, at least I've been driving it in to work lately with the top down. There isn't a better way to get to work and around 7:30am I know people are wondering what the he!! I do for a living. I can't help but feel like I'm on top of the world, top down, rowing the gears and listening to the exhaust while everbody else is on cell phones, staring at their hoods drinking coffee. I don't even mind the traffic so much when I'm in the Vet.
there's never a time when I have had the windows down with the top up while driving, if it's too hot to drop the top then it's too hot to drive without the AC on!
I have only owned my C5 (a 98 btw) since February of this year and to be honest I cut the damn flap off before the end of March...
I have no intention of selling the car...so its one very cheap modification...
I have no clue as to why its there ...no glare, etc...
My other 2 Corvette Convertibles sure as hell did not have a flap....

76 & 79 Coupes....
The 76 is modified so rear window comes out like the 68-72 coupes ..but the tops never come off either coupe

Agree with others material flapping can put wear marks on the vert hatch. Also note how rear window is vibrated by wind with the windows down. I suspect this may be the cause of some rear windows detaching from the top.My .02
