I need to replace the four stock tires.
I would like the least expensive replacement tires since the Vette will be gone by January 2007.
My monthly mileage is, on average, 700 miles.
I would appreciate any info, experiences, and opinions.
I do not intend to buy online. Just locally.
I purchased Kumhos from tirerack.com and had them drop shipped to a local tire shop. The tirerack web page has a seach feature that allows you to locate a list of local shops that are happy to do the mounting. I paid 200 for mounting and an alignment. The local guy was happy with the buisness. I agree if a local shop is a little more, I keep my money in the community. In this case, living in a smaller town, the internet was the only place to get all season tires for my Vette. By the way, the Kumhos ASX seem OK, but the real test will be when it if 60 degrees and sunny on a October morning, and it snows a couple of inches while I'm at work. I'll be pretty tight driving the machine home in the snow the first time!

Last time I shopped, Falken's were cheaper than Kuhmo's. They're also pretty good for everyday driving IMO.
Complete set installed ~$650.
Many thanks for all the answers.
I was thinking of the Kumho ECSTA ASX after browsing the Forum and the Internet.
It seems to me that they are less expensive than the Falken.
But, maybe the ride is better with the Falken?

Look in the C5 parts section. there is a guy there that seems to get his hands on used tires frequently with 50% or more tread. You may be able to save a little.
