damper fails back...

underdrive pulley fails back...
really i need help, please.
yesterday a strange noise in the engine made me stop to drive my c-5, i look under the hood an i found that the underdrive pulley was misaligned, seems like the pulley separates in two parts, it moves closer to the engine , it sounds like it was loose, or only the pulley ring. the belt isn´t full out, but it´s in the half way, the center of the belt hits right in the front bigger ring end of pulley...and smells like a burned tire. the q is ,how can i fix it? my vette is a 98 coupe 6 spd and has 50k miles only, please help me!!!

Sounds like your pulley has seperated, from what I can gleen from your post.
