Ok, So Runflats work.
My $90 ebay tire as a stop gap that I mounted yesterday went out on me today. I noticed a little bulge in the sidewall after we aired it yesterday and after a brief stop on the way home from work today I got the message "Right Front Tire Flat, Speed Limit 55 MPH, Traction something or other." The runflat did it's thing VERY well though.
The ebay auction stated a perfectly good tire. I sent the guy an email last night with a couple of pics showing the bulge, and he got back today and offered a 50% refund and keep the tire or a full refund (minus shipping) and I send the tire back. I emailed him back very calmly and said that the tire blew (at the bulge obviously) today, would you like to redo the option for everything?
I don't know what I'm going to do at this point. The Ace Slicks are calling my name something fierce, but my motor for the other car will be put on hold that much longer if I drop the $2K it's going to cost for wheels and tires.
Argh. I need a break. Nine days of leave coming starting on Saturday, with hopefully a relaxing drive to GA to pick up the Celica after the 3S-GTE swap. I can't wait.
