My wife started this itch of getting another vette. She mention that she seen a C5 for sale and that was all it took for me. I went to check it out. It was a 98 contvertible 82k on the clock. No scatches, dents or dings in the body, Interior was in excellent condition and so was the top. The tires looked brand new and it had ZO6 chrome rims. I think it was being sold on a used car lot by a private owner. I didn't get a chance to start it up or drive it. There wasn't anyone on the lot. The asking price in the window was $23,995. I'm willing to pay $21,000 for it. What do you guys think? Is 82k on the clock worth buying ?
Lots of low mileage C5's out there. That's a lot in my opinion.
Heck Roger's Corvettes who is known for ONLY low mileage Vettes had a 2000 Vert that had 34K on it and he listed it for 28K. It went fast. Most of his are less than 10K and command top dollar.
I had a '98 NON convertable. It had 48,000 miles on it when I bought it and I paid $18,000. Mint condition, fairly new tires, both tops and all options. $21,000 for a vert sounds about right, but remember I bought this vette 2yrs ago.
Thanks for the input. I'll continue to look around. Besides I have a C4 in the garage that get plenty attention from me. The C5 will make a good christmas gift to me self

That price is steep for the miles.

I bought a spotless, one owner 98 TR vert with 42K on the clock from a fellow club member for 23K. Maybe I got a good deal but I think if you are patient you can find a car with less miles for the money you are talking. Just my .02 but do what makes you happy and I'll dance at your wedding.
I paid 22K for a 98 6 sp vert (Z51) with 19,500 miles on it in February...perfect shape took me a few weeks to find the one and only scratch on the car (drivers side door sill)..
