After a couple of years of parking my Vette "out of the way" to prevent dings and dents, I finally got nailed by the preverbial "hit and run"
Parked in a hotel parking lot and some brain dead moron backed into the right rear. The bumper acted exactly as designed and caved in and popped back out. Whoever got me was in a 04 Jeep, as he left his tailight lens as proof, and some cracks in my clearcoat.
Turned it over to insurance and it will probably be less damage than my deductible.
One thing I did find out is that CT police are pursuing the hit and run as a Class 3 felony and they can and will arrest. I didn't know that at all. Right now they are reviewing the hotel tapes, but they can not see the plate clearly.
I think it will be a matter of buffing out the scars from the Jeep and a touch up of the paint and clear.
How resilient they are surprised me. Great car.
Be careful where you park. Some people just don't care.
Man, that just sux - take to to a good shop to make sure nothing nderneath the body panels is damaged. I hope they catch this perp and throw the book at him.
I am sorry you have to go through this - we're with you....
Having been a victim myself, I feel for you. Like the drummer says, make sure you get checked for cracks that aren't visible from the surface. They'll continue to grow just like in a windshield if they aren't taken care of.
