Question about key fob----Help, Please
I purchased a '99 coupe about a month ago and it didn't have a remote with it and I had been looking around to see where the best deal is. I saw a website that had them for sale and it said if your remote looks like this one, it will probably work. Well, I have a Malibu that has 2 remotes that look just like the one for the Corvette, so I called the Chevy dealership and asked if they could use one of these remotes instead of me having to purchase a new fob and they said it wouldn't work because the Corvette is a '99 and the Malibu is an '04. They didn't take any more info., just, NO, that won't work. Does anyone here know if this is true or are they just trying to get me to buy a new remote for $150.

Go on EBay and look for one that matches the numbers on the back. You can even type in the year of your car and find several to choose from, I've bought 6 or 8 off of EBay and have had great luck with them. 
Just do your homework and watch the seller for credibility...
