Hello all,
My dad recently took the original polished aluminum wheels off his 2002 Coupe in order to throw a set of machined Z06 repros on there - the Z06 wheels look great and therefore he's going to sell his originals to cover the cost of the new ones. Corvettes of Houston offered us $200 for the entire set on a trade in but I knew that was a rip off, so I was hoping you guys would let me know what they are really worth. The wheels have around 10,000 miles on them, and the fronts are curbed a little bit while the rears are perfect...Any help is appreciated!
You might watch the C5 Parts for Sale/Wanted section of the Forum. The polished thin spokes come up for sale there from time to time and this would give you a fairly good idea what they are going for.
Heck put them on EBAY. I put my chrome wagon wheels on there last year and sold them for $1100. And that was after 4 months of trying to selling them here for $600 then reduced price to $500 and lastly $400.....with no luck.
Should bring a minimum of about $400 on ebay. A perfect set of polished wheels actually brought $891, on ebay, only 2 days ago. On the other hand, I bought a front and back polished wheel, last week on ebay, for $20 each. Picked them up locally with no shipping charge. They had some curb rash that I was able to fix with a file and wet sanding and now look almost perfect. You might want to do this with the 2 damaged wheels before selling them. Surprising how easy it is to do.

IMO, you might get $300-350 out of the wheels with the right buyer. Having the fronts damaged could lower the price - how mich depends on just how curbed they are.
