dad is looking for a vette now that he drove mine but, he wants to buy from a dealership(stealership) so he can buy an extended warranty. Hes not trading so i told him to look at private sellers as he he will find what he wants at a better price, but he wont because hes scared of a warranty he will have to buy from wherever....so my question is, where is a reputable place that has warrantys for cars out of the factory 3 year 36,000 mile?

I bought my car from a private source and called Fitchner Chev and purchased an extended warranty by phone. You do not need to buy from a dealer to get a GM extended warranty.
He can still buy a GM warranty from a GM dealership, but it might not be the equivalent of the oem 3 yr/36K warranty. It depends on what he wants to spend on the plan, the level of coverage, deductibles, year/mileage, etc on the car, etc. There's also plans available on the internet, but IMO, that might be a crap shoot. I like dealing with a known entity myself.
Look at the different levels of warranty at gmprotectionplan.com
Do a search here on extended warranties. There should be alot of info on this topic. I believe "EvilTwin" has done quite a bit of research on this topic. I believe he recommendations checking out "Direct" warranty.
here is a 2002 Z06 It is being sold through the company I work for. If you do a little research you will find that this is not an ordinary dealer. I am a vette owner, vette enthusiast, and a member of this forum, and will vouch for them.

Just a thought. If you're a credit union member, most will offer a repair plan equal to, or superior to, the GM version; and in my case, my local dealers will honor the policy for work in their shops. Shop around, and do a little home work; you can save a bundle. Turns out my credit union's 3 yr/45K mile plan on a 2000 Vert was about half of the dealer's offered GM plan with the same deductible. Good luck. Jack
