Anybody use Clearshield on their car in lieu of bra to avoid rock chips??? Going on a 2500 mile road trip soon and trying to come home with the car in the same condition as when I left.
Thanks for the feedback on this and the many other questions I have asked as a newbie.
Topdog, I had the 3M film installed on my car 2 years ago. It is not cheap and I would recommend that it be installed by professionals. It is a great product.
This film they apply...how can the finish/shine still look really good once you apply the film, and can it ever be removed? I'm sure it protects, but seems like it would change the look of the paint/finish....dull-looking??
In asking around it does not seem to alter the car finish. The place where I bought my car ( a corvette only store) said it can be removed in the future without hurting the finish.
That is correct! Wash it and wax just like the rest of the car. Most people don't even notice it's on the car.

Same for my car. It is yellow and the bra is cut to fit where all the seams are. I also had the healdlights and the side view mirrors coverd as they are a target for lots of bugs. It is almost invisable. It will come off with a heat gun but aafter it is on there is no reason to remove it.
