My passenger side mirror fell off, i noticed that it is being held down what looks like a lifter spring. My question is how do i compress the spring on the shaft to get the locking washer locked back on Dose anyone know if i take this to the dealership will it cost me an arm and a leg to have them fix it?

It is quite a problem on 99 and older cars. Do a search here, there is a guy to send the mirror to for fixing.
Good things from what I hear from here.
But I like to fix things myself. I fixed mine. It's a pain in the azz to remove the mirror which is required eithier way you go. You will need a bench vice, drill, some 1/2" all thread, nuts & washers and small piece of 3/4" pipe. PM me if you want to do it and I will call you and walk you throught it.

My info was that it was a problem on 97 and EARLY
98's...since I own a 98 (vin around 11000) I saved the fix info ....somewhere on one of my computers.. IF I recall correctly the fix is 70 or so dollars and the turn-around time is one day...
Anyway I have not had the problem...(knock on wood)...not Fiberglass..
