[Z06] Headers and Exhaust Question
Check out the forsale section here. I know there is a good deal on some Kooks headers and X pipe, and there was also someone wanting to trade factory Borla Stingers for Factory Ti

Thanks again.

I looked and asked questions and thought about headers for 4 years for my 2002 Z (bought new in Dec 2001).
I decided to go with LG pros, and I even drove to Dallas to have LG install them.
Yea, I could have put them on myself, but it was cool to go down, I love road trips, it was only $400 for the install and dyno tune, and I figured they would know best how to install their products.
Price? Not a concern. I wanted the best ones, and I paid for that.
Sound? They sound very good. You hear more noise from under the hood, because the thin-walled headers allow more exhaust pressure noises to come through - might even amplify the noise to some degree.
Essentially, at idle, the car has more of an agressive cam sound thqan it did stock. not a whole lot louder, perhaps just a very small amount.
I went with the off-road (no cats) setup.
The car begins to howl at 3500-3700 rpm, and then at wot it is screaming like a race-car.
I opted to keep the extremely light-weight Ti setup, figuring that was as good a cat-back as you can get.
Here is a short vid of the car with LG pros and x pipe, no cats, and the stock Ti setup.

also, do you have any of it driving?
I'm in Charlotte as well. You are welcome to listen too/see my setup anytime.
I have LG Pros, X-over, Cats, and quad tip Borla Stingers. I spent quite a bit of time researching which headers to buy and settled on long tubes from LG Motorworks. I'm very happy with the fit and finish and the performance improvement. The Borlas are a tad bit heavier than the stock Ti aftercats...but the look and sound are righteous.
I think you'll love the sound. It's screaming loud at WOT and at idle you get a nice deep rumbling note.
Driving around town is fun and cruising on the freeway is easy.
Send me a PM.

I do not have any of it while driving - but I'll post em here if I can get some recorded .
The car idles at around 900rpm, so it is approx the same as it was with the stock tune. I might have had my foot on the throttle slightly when we recorded the clip.
What I can tell you is that I notice a big SOTP power gain, particulalry in the midrange through 2 3 and 4th gears. You'll love the mod.
