I had the Feb recall done, didnt need a reprogram...but after teh recall was down I got the pull key wait 10 secs messege...there was no cL though. Good thing for the recall in my case.
I am not sure...are you being sarcastic? Hope so...the recall probably caused your error message. Many people who have the recall done get that message after, and they never got it before. Go figure...
just had the latest recall done on mine a month ago. same thing. pull key wait ten seconds. then next time service column lock. co worker smacked the wheel hard a few times and tried it again and it worked. then i had the NEW recall done that takes the plate out and it works fine now. kninda like the clb in a way. the service should be free of charge.
i did loose my aftermarket tune though..... bummer!!!!!

You do realize that now your fuel will cut off if it detects a problem (real or perceived) with your column lock even though the plate has been removed. Apparently your dealer did the original recall a couple of months ago even though the new one (Feb 06) was already out. If they had done it correctly the first time using the Feb 06 guidelines they wouldn't have reflashed your computer.
Took mine completely off and looked inside. The wires to the drive motor use push-in connectors. One of mine was pulled out causing the problem.
There is no excuse for such a cheap design on a $50k machine.
If the wires are firmly reconnected to the motor and the green and black wires connected, the car will NEVER fail from this problem again. My motor is just lying on top of the closeout panel. I hear a buzz from the motor when I turn the key and thats all.
This is a problem waiting to bite EVERY C5 out there. My strong advice to everyone is to remove the thing before you get stuck somewhere you dont want to be.

I got sucked into a flatbed to the dealer this week for a $567 actuator replacement on a '98 A4. Who had had their actuator covered (when out of warranty)? I want to get reimbursement from GM....
do the bypass it the smartest thing you can do. mine locked then fortunally somehow it unlocked i had my girlfriend sit and wait in the car while i went to cartek and they had the bypass there. smartest thing i ever did was bypass it
