I read the FAQ post on the Audio forum that gives instructions on installing a XM commander in the C5. Could someone help with a few additional questions.
1) The instructions are for a 2003 I have a 2004 Coup any differences in the years?
2) My car did not come with the CD changer so I do need the CD changer harness?
3) What is a Kick Panel?
I just did that a couple of weekends ago on my 04 vert. Took some time, but it's done and it's great.
In answer to your questions.
1. 03 or 04...didn't make a difference.
2. I didn't use the CD changer harness, but instead used the FM modulator that came w/ the Commander and plugged that in to the antenna connector at the back of the radio.
3. Kick panel is the carpeted panel at the front end of the passenger's side area. It's just velcro'ed in.
I did mine a couple of months ago, and placed all the electronics in the right rear storage compartment. I used the CD changer harness and GM-10 auxiliary input adapter from litewarehouse.com. Made things a lot easier, and I didn't have to stuff anything up under the dash. I should also mention that even though you don't have the CD changer, you'll still need the harness if you want to direct-connect the XM to your existing radio. The tie-in connectors for the harness is behind the passenger side footwell panel, and they lead to the backside of the radio.
Can this also be done with the Sirius Satelite system? Can it be fed through the STOCK Bose radio on an '04? Can the regular radio buttons be used and the display be fed through the stock display screen?
