My Z seems to eat batteries, just put a new one in about 10days ago, that is the 3rd one in three years. Started fine today but I have noticed the voltage is a bit lower. As Murphy's law would have it, I leant it to a friend for a wedding this morning. He just called, it is at 13.1V which is ok but he said that Charge System Fault came up on the DIC. Where is the problem?
Did a search in tech...maybe a loose starter connection. Sounds like it isn't usually an issue to keep running. Maybe with it so hot, full a/c & stereo and he probably isn't running it as hard as I do, that it isn't getting the revs up.
I just hope it starts in an hour after the wedding...it's 1 of 5 vette's...that would be embarrasing.
Charge System Faults are normal...unless they acually set a code and log permanently. I've had many a charge system fault without a single code being set.
