Default NCCC Question

I am not a member of the NCCC but I have entered a few NCCC shows. I have a 2000 C5 that is stock except for the exhaust. At an NCCC show, they say stock can have up to 3 modifications. I was wondering if anyone knows what that means. There is another C5 that is at many of the shows and I noticed the car has mofied wheels, headers, exhaust, the corvette emblem on the rear has filled in letters, etc. I was wondering if anyone knows the definition of a modification as per NCCC rules. I'm not sure if this car should be in modified or not. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It depends on what class you entered originally. The mods you speak of may have placed the car in modified class. The club having the show has someone that will make the final decision on what class a ar is to be placed in for the show after teching. The 3 mod rule generally refers to Street Stock and Wash n show cars being placed in custom or modified. Hope this helps some.

Mods are interesting...
If you can buy the part from a GM dealer as a GM performance part it is not considered a mod...
So a Corsa exhaust is not a mod for this purpose but a B&B or Borla is!

So any combination of
drilled and slotted rotors
a cold air induction
a borla exhaust
ported polished throttle body
a aftermarket non GM cam
A set of aftermarket non GM heads
put you in modified...

to get in custom all yo have to do is paint your Vette in a non Vette color.

Default NCCC Rules

The NCCC Rlue Book states that to get into a class is:

Three points or less Concours Prepared
Four to fifteen points Modified
Sixteen or more points Custom

Page 8-12 is a list of items that will gain you points. If you would like a copy of the page I can scan it and e-mail it to you?
