Default Plug and wire change intervals?

I have an 02 Z with 75000 km's on it. The car has a custom tun, vararam and borla exhaust. When should i think about changing out the plugs and wires? it runs good right now, but i really have nothing too compare it too. What plugs would you guys suggest? is this a day job or is it gonna be like my old lt1 cars where a plug and wire change can take you literally 2 days?

Thanks.

i'd stick with the stock ac/delco plugs. magnecore wires are the best... hands down. ez to change both...but make sure u have a wobbly-socket wrench...got mine from snap-on...u'll need it for #8 plug.
good luck!

This gets debated over and over... If you're using platinum plugs I'd change them every 50-60k, with copper core plugs every 25-30k.

I run NGK TR-55's gapped at .055"

As for plug wires... with coil on pack ingnition the wires are very short and very efficient. The only time you will see any gain with aftermarket wires is if there is an issue with your stock ones. I have 62,000 miles on my car, most with LT headers, and still have the stock wires. I did pickup a spare set of stockers for $20.00 on here just in case one breakes while I'm changing plugs.

Re-cap... don't waste your money on new wires.

You're probably going to find Denso Iridium plugs in it. That's what came in my '02. They're a touch pricey for plugs - but that's par for the course with a performance vehicle.

i also bought the car with an extra set of stock wires. So NGK's? Densos? Ac/Delco's?

lol, sounds like it's a matter of opinion but the car could probably use a new set. Another birthday present idea!

thanks.
