Sorry if this is a stupid question, but the seek button on my C5 stereo is worn and looks terrible. The black (or gray) is worn off of it. Is this an item that must be purchased from a dealer? Can you buy just a "seek" button by itself? Is it hard to get off? Do you have to take the stereo, faceplate, or console apart to get at it? I am afraid to start prying on it without knowing what the heck I am doing. Thanks in advance for any help / advise for a noob.

I have no idea where you could get a replacement button, but it would most likely be scavanging one from a busted stereo. That said, replacing the button is fairly involved. The buttons basicaly fall out if you take the radio apart. Do a search for some posts on an LED mod of the radio and that will give you an idea of how to do it.
Unfortunately this malady is occurring more frequently these days as the endless search for enjoyable listening material becomes more and more frustrating. The rapid deterioration of my SEEK button ended only when I found a classical music station that finally reached my area. I understand that Sirius or XM may be a temporary though costly remedy.
As for now, find a closely matching bottle of Testors and paint the offending digit!
