I've read about it in this forum before, but of course I can't find any tips or links about it.
I have a 2001 coupe and the driver's side headlamp lights up, but does not rotate at all.
Thanks for the help !
The gears in the headlamps are plastic, people here replace them with a metal gearing. Can you hear the motor turning when the heamlamps go on? Do you hear a light grinding sound?
If you have a continual grinding noise, the plastic gear has probably gone south.
Lots of folks are replacing them with a brass gear.
To quote DeeGee -
Go to the "electrical" tab at the top and click.
About half way down on the right side under "Other Vehicles" find the Corvette brass gear. http://www.rodneydickman.com/corvette.html
If you are in a hurry, you might find a plastic replacement at your local dealer.
You *might* be able to rotate the gear assembly 180 degrees so it is not starting / stopping in the worn position.
I have read about this being done once before, but I'm thinking its only a temporary fix.
Best of luck.

ive got the same thing happening to my right headlight, but the motor isnt making any strange noises. If i get out and manually move it up it will move up and down for a day or two then seize up again. I'm suspecting a ground problem, you might have the same thing.
