Discussions of the emblem removal talked me into removing my rear emblem since I believe it gives the car a sleaker look. The problem I now have is that I can see the emblem from the fade difference. From the discussions I read no one seemed to have a problem with seeing a difference in fading of paint. What should I do now? I don't want to buy a new emblem and put in on to cover up where the old one was. Will it fade evenly quickly and if not how long. My corvette is a 2001 with a great finish. Millenium yellow. I would post a pic but it did not show up on the camera well enough to see on this post. Thanks for any help.
I took some TURTLES rubbing compound (white/green tub not the white/red tub) and used it on the spot and it lightly took some of the problem you mention away. I just did mine a week ago (last Saturday). I have noticed over the last few days in the sun that the spot is settling a great deal. Just keep polishing and waxing the spot and things should start looking better with time.
If you know someone that is decent at wet sanding, you could have them touch that spot and buff it out and you won't see much of anything.
I appreciate the help guys, i think that will be the route I go. When I use the coumpound to buff that out should I stick to the area where the decal was or do the whole lid, and do I use a cirular motion?...if any one else has advice or a better idea please feel free to chime in.
