Finally got the car back from the shop and all I can say is WOW!!! Tranny went out on Memorial day, and I have been out of commission until today. I had 3.42s and a 3200 TC installed at the same time. This thing is COMPLETELY different. I can chirp my tires going into 2nd, and can even get some minor fishtail action. I couldn’t believe how fast I was going when looking at the speedometer.
This is not the docile car that I remember having. With the stock system, I had virtually no response compared to this. Now I feel all of my horses are at my command. Next up, headers and H/C swap. (Yes, I have the mod bug…officially!!)
Great choice in ratio! Getting much more response in the speed ranges we can use makes much more sense to me. I have 3.15 and can't image that the base is even taller, It should be the base ratio and 3.42 should have been the 'performance' option. At least we can have these easily changed.
