Default A 2005....c5???

So I was watching some show on MTV yesterday about celebrities and their cars. They interviewed some rapper that was showing off his beautifully detailed 2005 Triple Black Corvette convertible. The funny thing was that the car was a triple black C5 vert! Now I know I may be new to the Forum, but as an owner of a 2000 C5 convertible, I think I know a C5 vert when I see one.

I just think it is hilarious that these millionaire celeb's go on TV and show off their cars and don't know even know what they have. Who knows, maybe GM is just messing with us and there was some secret celebrity 2005 C5 edition we didn't know about!

Just thought I would share!

I saw that show a while ago. The guy was a total poser. I bet that wasn't even his own vette. Alot of times, those celebrities will go on tv and say they own this, and that but in reality, the studios lend it to them, sometimes just for that episode of cribs etc. When I saw him say, "my new 2005 vette" I new he was clueless.

Over here in Germany we actually have 2005 C5s.
They of course are 2004s. But if no one bought them till let´s say June ´05 it is an ´05 C5 in German law. (Manufactured in ´04)...

Is it possible he meant to say that? Or did all C5s get their registration nlt DEC2004? Otherwise it might be an ´05 car?!?!!

What an idiot (the celeb)...2005 C5. No matter the law (as stated above) the car still couldn't have been beyond an '04 model year.

I remember seeing that episode a while back.
Sadly, it's his car....(He's always near your office - usually in the maybach)
but it is an '04.

I know the vette, they had it on a show called "UNIQUE WHIPS" a show that airs on SPEED and it they said the same thing, it is just a case of I am loaded and wanted to buy a hot car and then spend a bunch of money on things that I can show off and then say it is a 2005 when it isn't! I bet someone told him he was getting a 2005 to up the price and suckered him up.

Obviously the celeb is clueless about Vettes. Just happens to have the money to buy one.
