Default Insurance?

My policy is due for renewal am I was wondering what are the rates some of you are paying? I know it varies from state to state and even from county to county. Due to the fact I drive my '86 less than 2500 a year I get a rate from LeLand West of $197/yr. But my daily driver ('03) has a rate of $1,258/yr. Seems high? Or is this something we can't discuss here?

Its been discussed before. I have Liberty Mutual for home and four cars so there is supposed to be a discount somewhere in there. I pay around $700 for my 01, daily drive. And you are correct, it will vary from City to City, state to state, number of vehicles for discounting, etc etc.

Mine's around 1100 full-coverage, year round

Not too bad for being a young driver, it pays to have a clean record and a good agent

our '01 is about $1050 /yr full coverage. But I drop it down and get only comprehensive for the winter months while it is storage. So it works out to about $600 net.

also keep in mind these numbers people throw out all have different limits, deductables, etc on their policy.

Just re-doing mine as I type:
Farmers Ins.
15/30/50
uninsured motorist
comp
collision
1000 deductable
California
Im a 33 yr old male
02 Coupe 55,000 miles
$334 for 6 so $668 for the year.

Here's an idea, tell them your '86 is the daily driver and the '03 is only driven for pleasure. If that's not enough savings, lower the deductable.

You will probably find it best to check around and get quotes from the various companies doing business in your area. Insurance laws vary from state to state and there are too many variables to make any meaningful comparison with what others here are paying; e.g., liability limits, collision and comprehensive deductibles, multi-car and homeowner discounts, driving record, age, marital status, and yes your credit rating, etc, etc. Most insurance companies today are looking closely at one's credit rating. Studies have shown that those with higher credit ratings tend to have fewer claims and the claims that they do have are most often settled for less money.

USAA...'04 Z06/Z16 added $633/yr to my premium with two daily drivers autos also insured.
If anyone's interested, I found a specialty insurance company that has an agreed cash value policy for Corvette and '94-96 Impala SS collectible cars. In comparison, the coverage limits were not as good and the deductibles were higher.

Hello,
I use to work for State Farm insurance for 3 years out of highschool.
I am currently 22 years old, and pay 67.79 for insurance a month on my 2000 corvette in southern california (higher cost for insurance then most states)
Current coverage
100/300/50
C5000
D500 Comp
G500 Colision
UM 50/100 uninsured
R1 0

The best way to insure your car is to put it as your secondary vehicle with low mileage, for state farm its under 7,500 a year. Almost all companies offer low mileage.
With multi cars you get 10% off and a 10$ a month life insurance policy gets me an additional 8% off.
If you have homeowners or some sort of home/renters policy it can get you like 15% off, same all companies offer this.
Just talk with your insurance company, almost all companys have the same discounts just make sure your damn agents know how to work it.
I priced my car with another company they wanted to charge me over $170 a month. The reason MY AGE {under 25} and didnt give me discounts . I am a believer that most Insurance companys are pretty similiar in cost if your agent knows what they are doing. Just bug the **** out of your agent and make sure you get every discount. I know for fact they have alot of discounts they dont give to people unless they ask. If you have kids.. ask about getting a discount for that, if you are married, any little thing can matter..
hope i helped a bit hit me up if you need any help

They key word the original poster used was his Daily Driver C5....

I have all of my Corvettes insured thru American Collectors... Total premium is well under $1,000 for all
of them...

Honestly did not take too much "begging" on my part for them to include my C5 even though it sure is not 15 years old...

I am however restricted in its use....NO BIG DEAL in my case..
