ive decided on the tire i want but dont know what will fit on my wheels... help? i have the stock size 18 polished thin spokes, 18 by 10.5 i believe on the width, which tire can i go with that will fit and not rub on the rear? i did a search, but didnt get what i was looking for...

Nitto Nt 01

245/40ZR-18 93W BLK $229.00

275/35ZR-18 95W BLK $258.00

315/30ZR-18 98W BLK $325.00

I think its the middle one but i dont know if thats the right size, i have oem size front tires and i wasnt planning on changing them... thanks all

Stock tire sizes are

245-45x17 front Coupe/convertible
265-40x17 front Z06
275-40x18 rear Coupe/convertible
295-35x18 rear Z06

The front wheels:
17x8.5" Coupe/convertible
17x9.5" Z06
18x9.5" Coupe/convertible
18x10.5" Z06

If you have stock polished thinspokes - your wheels are 18x9.5" IMHO, a 315-30x18 will not fit on a 9.5" wide wheel. The 275-35x18 will fit with no problem, but it will be a little less tall than what was stock. You might be better off with a 285-35x18 if that size is available. The tire will be a little wider than what you presently have and will be about the same overall height, and will fit on the wheel without a problem.

Oh and BTW - mixing two different tread patterns, tire types (run flat and non-run flats) is not a great idea. The car will possibly be a little squirrely. The GY EMT is a very stiff tire, and the Nitto is a lot more flexible. It certainly wouldn't be my choice.....

315 is not good for a 9.5 rim. Will bulge too much and probably rub. As someone above said 285 is as wide as I would go on the 9.5. I have 295's on a 10.5 rim. Check out some of the tire manufacturers web sites, they have charts showing recommended rim widths for a given tire size.

I answered his question in my first post - I guess he wants someone to tell him that a 315 is okay on a 9.5" rim. So glad I bothered to take the timne to answer.....

If you keep asking enough people, you might find someone eventually that will tell you what you want to hear. Good luck to you Navy08.

Navy08,

A 315, which is the width of the tire will not work on a 9.5 inch wide wheel, as stated above. Of the sizes that you listed the 275 would be best.
Use this tire size calc to see the difference in size from one tire to the next:
http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCalculator.asp

Width difference works out to be about 1.6 inch difference.

Also, I noticed that you are looking at a 275 with a different profile than stock, you may need to adjust for this when selecting your front tire size to keep the car happy.
A little advice, do a bunch more reading on the topic before you buy tires, do a search on the topic and check out the wheel tire section on the forum, its not as easy as just slappin any ol size on the car, things need to work.
Stock sizes for your ride are
245/45-17
245(tire width in mm)/45(Sidewall profile as a % of width in mm)-17(Rim diameter in in.)
275/40-18

Hope this helps,

Darion
