I have purchased a GM bra for my C5, I have one problem with it, my car has a Vara Ram. If you cut out the plastic what keeps it from destroying the paint?

Get the GM Bra that's made for the Z06. It doesn't have the clear plastic.
When I cut mine out I used a drinking glass that fit between the binding around the clear plastic. Using an xacto knife I made two round holes on each side of the clear plastic. With a straight edge I connected the circles, removed the clear (repeat for other side)and it looks like it came from the factory.
The tabs mentioned above go on the front wheel well, they are just slide into the space between the fender and inner fender. The other snaps screw into holes that you have once you remove the stock screws. There are 2 on each fender and 3 that are under the nose of the car. Between the nose and hood you just bend the tabs to lock the large front mask. The small mask slips over the front of the hood then 4 elastic cords hold it in place. The first time you install the bra it should take around a half hour. The directions that come with the bra are good. Once installed it only takes a few minutes to put on or take off. Good luck!!!!

Bill, I called the local Chevy dealer & they couldn't come up with a different part #, can you help me with that. If not it sounds like the stock GM bra will be easier to install, I'll just cut the holes.

The GM Z06 bra is Part Number 12498286. If he can't sell it for $70 then buy the bra from Ken Fichtner.
However, the Z06 bra has tabs that get inserted above and below the screens to hold the bra in place. The tabs also go above and below the Turn signal and DRL lights. The problem with using this cover on a non-Z06 is there is no place to put the tabs that go above and below the screens so the bra will be forced open by air pressure in this area when the car is at speed.
Cutting holes in the standard C5 cover is the best alternative. 2 or 3 large circles in the clear vinyl on both sides should provide plenty of air. That way the vinyl will still hold the bra together at the points between the holes.
Not sure what you mean. I have had two (1 Z06 and 1 C5) of them and they fit better than any of the ones I tried from the other suppliers. They do especially well at very high speeds where the aftermarket bras tend to tear apart.

I have a GM nose mask and I lost one of those snap screws...the thing must have fallen off somewhere. Anyone have any suggestions on where to get one? Thanks for any help!

Any marine hardware sell those snaps, they're made from stainless steels and will work great. They also sell ss screws so rust won't be a problem. Bill
