Default C5 Fog Lamp Replacement

I found the following bulb information using the search:

Fog/Driving light
893
893ST Silverstar High Performance Lighting: The Whiter and Brighter Halogen

I have only glanced at the lamp location but what is the procedure for getting to the fog lamp? It looks like a royal pain.

I found it:

Don't drive up ramps, jack it up or remove the foglight housing

1) Turn the headlights on, so they pop up.

2) Remove the black shroud cover.

3) Loosen the lock nut on the hood alignment post and then unscrew the post and remove it. (don't lose the lock nut's position)

4) Reach your hand down between where the hood alignment post was mounted and the headlight.

5) Grab the foglight bulb assembly and twist it (I believe CW) and remove the bulb.

Now change the bulb and reverse your steps to assemble. Total time 15 minute per bulb to disassemble.

While you're changing the bulb, you may want to consider changing the stock bulbs to 50 watt Sylvania 885 Silver Stars. Make sure you align the foglight height, as they don't do that in Bowling Green.

Open your hood
Turn the black **** to manually raise headlamp
Remove the plastic piece (3 screws)
Reach down and turn to the right and pull out
Remove bulb as you release the catch
Install in reverse

Ok, are the 885 Silverstars a direct replacement, or do they have to be modified someway?

I am sure you are all set with this. I went and changed one of mine a minute ago and all i ended up doing was cranking the headlight up and reaching in from the side to take the socket and bulb out of the foog light itself. I went by feel pulled the bulb out and put the new one in. Took about 2 minutes and no tools.. If you have a big arm this won't work but I suspect that many people could just reach in.

It's a pain changing the turn signal bulb too. About a half hour job.
