Went to go for a ride on Friday night. Shut my door and noticed the driver side mirror looked funny. Upon closer inspection, it was ready to fall off. It tore it apart and it looks like clip that holds the spring on came off. The spring is pretty strong, I can't compress it with my hands.
Anybody had this problem before?
Whats the fix, do I need a whole new assembly, or can I just get another clip and try to get it back together.

There is a guy here who fixes them better than new for a decent price. I'm sorry that I don't know more specifics. Hopefully someone chimes in to help you. TTT for you.
Contact Ed Swaneck at 330-727-3188. He repairs the original mirrior if you remove it and send it to him. The cost to repair one original mirror is $70.00 and he pays for the return ground UPS shipping. The turnaround repair time is one day.

He just had a letter to the editor in Corvette Fever magazine about his services. Sounds like a decent deal to get the mirror fixed.
