I am new to the forum and see that you guys are all very good resources and have a lot of knowledge about Vettes. I am looking for a catback exhaust system for my '01 Z06. I have narrowed it down to two: B&B Triflow Bullet, and Borla Stingers. I was wondering if anyone had any advice about which one may be better as far as performance, and sound. Also, both systems offer a two tailpipe version as well as a four tailpipe version. I kind of like the two tailpipe version better for both of them, does the fact it only has two tailpipes make any difference as compared to the four. Thank you all, and I will be looking forward to chatting with all of you.
Well you've picked the loudest two systems short of straight pipes (I consider the SLPs to be straight pipes too).
I've had the Singers for over 2.5 years and still love them. As for power... on a stockish car they really only give sound as the stock setup flows great. The real power gains are to be found with new headers.
I too prefer the twintip look.. I have no idea if it sounds/performs any differently than the 4-tip versions... however the 2-tip are lighter.
Have you considered buying long tube headers and leaving the stock Ti system on? Then, you get an increase in sound but also retain the light factory exhaust. It will definitely give you a bit more growl from what I understand too, but won't be TOO loud.
Unless you buy your catback used, headers are a much better use of mod money. I got the Stingers, and they were great, but then I got headers, no cats, and they were too attention grabbing for my tastes. So I could have used the catback money for other mods, which once started.....
