The key to this question is per-capita With the population of CA, TX, and FL I think they would lose to a lower populated area maybe even MO or KY where the vette has a real following.

I'd have to agree with those three. Nice year around weather makes it ideal for Vette ownership.

It don't get any more unscientific than this. Using Forum Members profiles as a guide, and considering all generations of Vettes, and using Census numbers for population, which would include non drivers, my feeble mind came up with these numbers.

California: 1 Vette per 7400 persons.
Florida: 1 Vette per 5700 persons.
Nevada: 1 Vette per 10,400 persons.
Texas: 1 Vette per 8,200 persons.

I live in Florida. Vettes are EVERYWHERE. Having been to several other states I would say instinctively this data is probably more accurate than you think. Quite literally I can't drive for more than a minute or two on the road down here without seeing another Vette.

I agree. I've been to 24 of the lower 48 and I have never seen so many Vettes as I have in FL. Even in Los Angeles, Anaheim and environs (CA) or Houston or Dallas (TX)

BUT...he said "per-capita". The states mentioned are all very high population states so the numbers you think about don't tell the real story. You'd have to know how many vettes are registered in each state and compare that to the state's population.

Well you know Mississippi is always at the bottom or the top of state rankings (bottom of best place to live, and top of poorest, fattest, etc.). There aren't many folks in MS so it won't take many vettes to get to us to the TOP of this enviable list. We need access to state vehicle registration data to put this one to bed. Anybody good at hacking??

How 'bout this...5 C5's (3 black, 1 yellow, 1 red) in my little town of 3,800-4,000 peope...Tonganoxie (15 minutes from KC), Kansas. Yeah that's not the whole state of KS, but that's roughly 1 C5 per 800 persons! There's at least 1 C4 down the street from me and a number of others I've seen on sunny days of 85 degreees. A virtual corvette hotbed!!

Arizona has to be pretty high as well. I always see at least 4 vettes on my way to work everyday. They are everywhere here.

So EG,

Do we start referring to Connecticut as "Florida" or "Connecticut South?"

I used to live in NY.... Didn't see that many Vettes while there, and you can only drive for 3-4 months per year...

Hi Zuti -

I remember that - Peoria Illinois had the highest per capita corvette ownership of any town.

At least my dad used to say that - as a kid I would go to the Gold with my dad and some of his friends who owned vettes.

My dad never did own a vette - he is into Corvairs.

I would not count out Illinois.

Tony is coming over Sunday for me to install his billet shifter if you wanna come over and watch and drink a brew.

best regards -

Not sure about the answer since the question included "per capita", however, according to GM, Florida dealers receive the most Corvettes by CA . . . .
