well funny you ask, im getting ready to have mine done by a local guy just starting his new shop, but been working on vettes for a very long time , hes going to do mine for about 1400,00 thats 400 for r+r 400 to rebuild the rearend, 400 for gear steup and about 150 for rebuild kit, thats taking my 315s to 373s,,,, Now if im not wrong you cant put 373s in a 273 housing your housing is to small for the bigger gears, Now you can order a rebiult setup from DTE for about 1500 plus shipping, and your core, then pay someone to install the setup but thats a total of probally 2100,00

You are correct. The 2.73 housing is too small. The 3.15 housing will accept the 3.73 gears.

not 100% correct. DTE can put up-to 4.10 in a 2.73 (2 series case) - and has been for years now. But I do believe they are the only ones that can do it.

Thanks Mike. That clears that up as to having it done.

DTE did mine this spring and you can't believe the change I had them put a vig 3200 torque converter and dyno tune at the same time. Best $3000.00 I ever spent I feel like I got a new car for that money. It is so much more fun to drive The rear tires won't last long though
