Hello all. I've been scouring the forum prior to 'taking the plunge', and please let me say that this forum and its members have been of great help with regard to convincing me to go through with finalizing my decision.
A couple of weeks ago, when my brother told me that he had decided to trade-in his 1998 'C5 Corvette' targa coupe (fully optioned sans SRTD - Selective Real Time Damping) for a new car, I decided to quickly make him an offer before he changed his mind. My brother's a 'die hard' automotive enthusiast, but changes vehicles more than I change air filters in my cars. He's had several hi-performance vehicles throughout the years, and just recently sold his rare green '95 Pontiac 'Firehawk' convertible.
So, when my wife came home early from work last night, she asked me if I'd like to go and pick-up the 'Vette from my brother. After I called my brother at his home, my wife and I quickly debarked on our 1.5 hour southeasterly drive. Although I swore to never purchase another black car...ever again (they become too dirty...too quickly), I couldn't help but not become quickly attached to this great looking 'Vette, which I'd never seen before, but in photos...it just looks so good in black!
Congrats bro...Looks good from the Avatar pic...
I myself have a 2003 50th Aniverrsary "Gun Metal Metalic" Vert..
This too gets dirty real quick but I clean it daily to keep up the clean look and I suggest, invest in a car cover if you dont have a garage.
Thanks for the warm welcome guys. Would anybody have an idea what exhaust my car has from the tailpipes in my avatar? My brother thought that the system was Corsa, but isn't really sure. He was told by the Chevrolet dealer that the former owner is the president of the Palm Springs Corvette Club, and that is what they thought he had relayed to them. All I know so far, is that the exhaust sounds aggressive and the car has quad tips, but they actually look more like two oval pipes split in half. They are chrome, but I haven't had a chance to clean them up yet...thanks.
